Grants and Fundraising

In September 2008, Windarring Snr. Management team made a decision to appoint a Grants and Fundraising Co-ordinator. The aim of this 0.2 position was to increase Windarring’s profile in the community and to take full advantage of as many funding opportunities as possible. In the initial 12 months the goal was to concentrate on developing the skills of the co-ordinator through training opportunities and applying for projects that directly involve and enhance the lives of people with a disability.

In the next twelve months it is anticipated that a greater emphasis will be placed on philanthropic funding, larger operational grant applications and major fundraising events. Some of this work will directly link to fundraising being proposed and undertaken by Parents and Friends Association.

During 2008/9 the role has been to plan and develop grant submissions through consultations with key stakeholders, develop and manage projects throughout all phases, celebrate success, develop media releases, evaluate and seek fundraising opportunities.

This is an exciting and challenging position that has very positive and has achieved tangible outcomes for everyone associated with Windarring.

The following is a list of fundraising activities and grant applications undertaken since the appointment of the co-coordinators position:
